When Richard E. Wiley passed away recently, he left a huge legacy at Endicott College. As its long time President, he grew the school from what was once a small regional two-year associates degree player to a nationally known multifaceted institution offering bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. There are three campuses and a large range of options for study. It has an endowment in excess of $60 million, a 50% increase within the last five years.

Not For Profit Execs Are Real People, Too

I don’t know or meet many executives working at human service, community service, healthcare or other not for profit organizations who work just 9:00 to 5:00 five days a week.  It’s more like 10-12 hour days, some nights, and don’t forget the weekends.  Yet, we see newspapers, television and more and more frequently government getting into the business of “gotcha” and complaining or trying to control compensation.
